Interfaith Solar Forum: Caring for Creation
New Hackensack Reformed Church of Wappingers Falls will host an evening gathering for area faith congregations to learn about the community sponsored non-profit program called Solarize Hudson Valley.
—–
This Interfaith Solar Forum will be held on Wednesday January 11 at 6PM. The location is the Fellowship Hall of New Hackensack Reformed Church, 1580 NY-376 in Wappingers Falls. Rev Keith Tamlyn is pastor.
—–
The goal of the program is to encourage the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy–as a tangible way to embrace responsible stewardship of our world.
—–
A second goal is to make solar energy more affordable, which this state-wide program does through a combination of local, state and federal discounts and incentives currently available.
 —–
The forum is for community members who want to know whether solar makes sense for their home. It is also for faith communities who are interested in solar for their church, synagogue, mosque or temple. All are welcome.
—–
The Wappingers community chose three regional solar companies based on their NYSERDA qualifications and dedication to best practices. At this forum, people will hear from and be able to question all three. Light refreshments will be served.
—–
In October, First Presbyterian Church of Wappingers Falls also hosted our Solarize program at their monthly Community Dinner.
