U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko will be in Delmar on Monday to promote support for a bill that would extend federal investment tax credits for residential and commercial solar panel systems.
Tonko will visit three homes with Hudson Solar president Jeff Irish during the afternoon. The homes will be on Salisbury Road, Laurel Drive and Glendale Avenue.
Tonko is the sponsor of H.R. 2412, the New Energy for America Act.
“Investment in renewable energy like solar is a big win for everyone as the energy we consume begins to cost less and last longer – all while reducing our dependence on foreign oil. I look forward to Monday’s tour with Hudson Solar to witness firsthand the good work done locally to strengthen both our environment and economy through innovation and development of clean energy,” said Tonko.
The investment tax credits expire after 2016.
